Introducing Transmission

Like many other festivals, we have taken to the digital realm to deliver this year’s edition of Spilt Milk Festival. Under the banner Transmission, we present a three-day tapestry of forward thinking and homegrown music and art. Today we unveil a festival trailer created especially for us by the creative duo of Lauren Varian and Cian Hamilton.

The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are many and will be long-lasting for years to come, and it has been felt sharply in the arts and live events community, amongst many others. We have no answers for how the music and arts landscape will move forward post-pandemic, but for now we are thrilled and heartened by the Sligo and wider artistic scene across Ireland in their response to our programme call.

Artists have still created work, they have gone online directly. Promoters and Festivals have switched up their programmes and reimagined them for digital consumption. For others it has been an opportunity to hit pause and slow down from life.

For a many months we considered our options for Spilt Milk Festival, plenty of questions and back-and-forths were had about mounting a programme. But we are here now and we are truly blown away by the work assembled by the 17 artists and bands whom will be presented over the course of this weekend.

Tune your dials and join us for Transmission.
