About
Spilt Milk Festival is an annual festival of music, art and film which takes place in November around venues in Sligo town. Spilt Milk Festival was founded in 2019 to extend Sligo’s artistic and festival calendar into the winter and provide a platform for experimental art across music, sound art, video and film. Presenting national and international artists alongside emerging local acts drawn from the leftfield and fringes of alternative music.
“On these shores, few creative initiatives pair careful curation with an independent spirit as focused and informed as Spilt Milk.”
– The Thin Air
Spilt Milk Festival is a meeting ground for artists and audiences alike, our events encompass performances, installations, screenings and workshops providing intimate encounters for all ages in music and art.
We support local, national and international artists, with programming focused on contemporary practices and a diversity of voices, creating an inclusive and youth-focused cultural event in the North-west region, providing access to high quality live experiences at an affordable price to audiences.
Spilt Milk builds on the activities of a group of like-minded individuals each already working within the music landscape and passionate about building a community in Sligo that joins the wider burgeoning alternative music scene across the island of Ireland.
Spilt Milk 2023 is commissioned by The Model, with support from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Failte Ireland, Sligo County Council and IMRO.
