This year sees our first foray into the late night, with plenty of opportunities to make some moves on the dancefloor.
Thursday 14th
DJ Schlucht
Yeats Building | 9-10pm | Free
Ok, so this one is not so late, but after a bit of card playing with Spooky Beore, stay on for a very eclectic set from Berlin’s DJ Schlucht.
Berlin-based DJ SchluchT has interned at DIY Church for over 10 years. Known for his quirky social behavior, ghost coding, and tape looping, his work is described as “classic intuitive wrongfootedness.” Outside DJing, he runs a virtual yacht club, enjoys underwater painting, and experiments with obsolete copy machines, printing the internet on them.
Friday 15th
Lolz and Julia Louise Knifefist
Penthouse | 10:30pm-2am | €12.50 | Buy tickets
Described as a lynchpin of Irish electronic music, Laura O’Connell is established as one of the scene’s most in-demand DJs. Not one to be pinned down to a specific style or sound, her sets have spanned nightclub dancefloors, international radio stations and major outdoor events. From bright lights at Longitude, All Together Now or Electric Picnic’s infamous ‘rave in the woods’, to tastemaking independent festivals like Open Ear, Drop Everything and the Community Skratch Games and have seen her support the likes of Lena Willikens, Scratchclart, Helena Hauff, Giant Swan, OR:LA and DEBONAIR.
With two Knifefists, Julia Louise creates dense, noise influenced dance tracks to thrash to. Delivering the sounds of breakcore, gabber, and digital hardcore, KnifeFist takes to stage with a mission to take you to catharsis with his raw energy, explosive vocals, and brain-shakingly infectious rhythms. He’s shared the stage with the likes of fellow noiseniks Machine Girl and Gabber Eleganza, and brought together some of the finest and filthiest sets in contemporary Irish history. KnifeFist is a founding member of Bitten Twice, a Dublin based experimental rave collective.
Saturday 16th
R.KITT and FILMORE!
Penthouse | 10:30pm-2am | €12.50 | Buy tickets
R.Kitt has long been at the forefront of Ireland’s dance music scene, holding down a DDR residency, running parties and DJing with DIP, and being one of the leading voices of the GiveUsTheNight campaign. R.Kitt’s music and DJ sets are influenced by the futuristic sounds of Detroit Techno pioneers as well as the euphoric melodies of mid-90s trance and tech tracks that shaped the sound of Dublin. This impressive sound has lead him to stand-out performance in iconic settings such as Boiler Room, Printworks & HÖR.
Filmore!, Filmore!, the daring and dynamic artist known for his genre-defying sound, his work is a sonic exploration of the co-dependent, manipulative, and financially draining aspects of an artist’s life, captured with unflinching honesty.
