Cathal Roche has been performing innovative new music for over 15 years.  His reputation in Ireland as a saxophonist specialising in extended techniques is unparalleled and has led to collaborations with artists as diverse as the Vanbrugh and ConTempo String Quartets, Atila Csihar, Izumi Kimura, Phil Minton, Ian Wilson, Ronan Guilfoyle, Ties Mellema, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Lorcan Mac Mathuna, Gabriel Rosenstock, Kate Wilson, and many others. 

Cathal continues to develop his practice within emerging compositional mediums including ambisonic field recording and immersive audio speaker dome (The Whispering Gallery) which he sees as an instrument to bring audience into the core experience of performance and its relationship to memory and the psycho-acoustic.
